Pho’s origins can be traced back to Hanoi in the early 1880s, and its ingredients combine French and Chinese influences. The popularity of Pho and the passionate enthusiasm for the meal spread quickly throughout the entire country, and by the 1950s Pho was the favorite food of both the North and South Vietnamese.

What is Pho?

Pho combines the favorite ingredients of the Vietnamese into one tasty, culturally significant food that is even greater than the sum of its parts. Beef, broth, rice noodles, vegetables, and herbs and spices all go into the creation of this beloved cuisine.

Ingredients:

• Meat - mainly beef (chicken can be a great substitute)
• Noodles - made of the finest rice vermicelli
• Soup - our broth is a family recipe, cooked delicately for 8-10 hours
• Vegetables - bean sprouts, white onions, green onions, lime, sliced jalapeños
• Spices - basil, cilantro
